It is a necessity to make it coherent and co-ordinated through everything you do including twitter, blogs, Facebook etc. It is the key in linking everyone to your brand, product, service, banana whipping factory, sheep mobile sheering fluff maker, web what-ever 2.blah blah etc…

Shoeboxed – US service for scanning your receipts for filing Tax submissions etc – Possible very useful for UK consumers in future as Don mention’s they’re tying into Freshbooks and Evernote

The digital forgotton – digital inclusion, digital exclusion

I’m always quick to get sucked into the fantastic sparkly things of the internet, quickly forgetting those that just have no idea or access to these wonderous creations.
The UK Government’s wonderfully titled ‘Digital Inclusion Unit’ have jolted me back to this cause with a just released consultation on how we, as a nation, can ensure people are digitally included. There are some great figures in the documentation (click here) and an online flash video/slideshow (click here) although the 2007 version below has most of the same figures (more easily embedded!).

All of this is great in refocusing the importance of closing up social gaps by closing the digital social divide but my only concern is that the consultation is getting off to a fantastically ironic start as the consultation is only available online!

Metro Newspapers using Yudu

Metro20081023 Metro Newspapers, the free daily UK newspaper, is using Yudu. It’s the first time I’ve seen a genuine big hitter using something other than some of the costly alternative page viewers. Interesting and appropriately branded it gives a good idea of what you can do with the application.

Seth Godin’s got a new book out all about using tribes to market. He’s backed this up by producing a very nice 200+ slide filled slideshare.net presentation (cleverly obvious as this is the very product he’s promoting). Some of it I remember researching over 10 years ago for a dissertation so I don’t think it’s too new or rocket science but I certainly feel that it’s much more pertinent now with the development of the web and web 2.0.
